Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups flour - 160g
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese - finely grated
  • 1/4 cup plain yogurt
  • 4 tablespoons butter - cold, cut into pieces

Instructions

  1. 1.FOOD PREP: Add grated sharp cheddar cheese, flour, and cold butter pieces to food processor. Pulse until mixture becomes crumbly (8-10 pulses).
  2. 2.Add plain yogurt and pulse until dough just holds together - do not overprocess.
  3. 3.Shape dough into log, wrap tightly in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. 4.PREREQUISITE STEPS: Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  5. 5.Roll chilled dough on floured parchment paper to 1/8 to 1/4 inch thickness. Thinner dough creates crispier crackers.
  6. 6.Cut into 1-inch squares using knife or pizza cutter. Poke small hole in center of each cracker with toothpick.
  7. 7.Transfer squares to prepared baking sheets, leaving small space between each cracker.
  8. 8.Bake for 17-20 minutes until edges are golden brown and crackers are crisp.
  9. 9.SERVING: Cool completely on baking sheets before serving - crackers will continue to crisp as they cool.
  10. 10.BATCH COOKING TIP: These store well in airtight containers and make great snacks for toddlers. Makes approximately 12 toddler portions (12 crackers each).

🧊 Storage Instructions

Store in airtight containers at room temperature for up to 1 week. Freeze for up to 3 months.

🔥 Reheating Instructions

Serve at room temperature. If crackers lose crispness, reheat in 300°F oven for 2-3 minutes.
